The magnificient ancient city of world famed Meenakshi Temple Thiruvananthapuram was earlier known as Trivandrum. It is believed to be the city of huge serpent Anantha on which on which Lord Vishnu reclines. Thiruvananthapuram is named after the revered deity Sri Padmanabhaswamy.
